Nearly 300 dogs and cats at Oklahoma’s largest no-kill sanctuary, Free to Live, will receive critical support from donations raised at a benefit auction on Thursday, March 13. The event, held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Oklahoma Contemporary in Oklahoma City, will feature artwork from well-known local artists as well as creative submissions from Free to Live’s own resident dogs and cats.

Located in north Edmond, Free to Live has been a refuge for the state’s homeless and unwanted animals for 41 years. While the sanctuary facilitates adoptions for hundreds of pets each year, more than 100 dogs and cats remain permanent residents due to age, health concerns, or special needs. As a nonprofit, Free to Live relies entirely on donations to provide food, shelter, medical care, and rehabilitation. “We are here for some of Oklahoma’s most vulnerable dogs and cats – many who need a second and even third chance at a full life,” said Free to Live Executive Director Reagan Hamlin. “Your generosity helps us raise awareness and funds to support these animals who rely on the medical and rehabilitative care we provide.”

Participants can bid online or attend and bid in person at bidpal.net/artauction25. The event is free to attend and will include complimentary wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres, offering guests an opportunity to support the cause while enjoying a night of art and philanthropy.

Founded as a safe haven for stray, abandoned, and mistreated animals, Free to Live ensures that every animal in its care receives proper medical treatment, food, and shelter for as long as needed. More than 100 animals are adopted from the sanctuary each year, while those that are not adopted live out their lives in a safe and caring environment. The organization does not practice euthanasia, staying true to its mission of providing a second chance for every animal it rescues.
