Oklahoma City substitute teacher Robert Nalagan has released his first collection of poems in “Through the Eyes of a Broken Man.” This slim volume features introspective verse “? niftily printed on off-blue paper “? addressing such usual poet-friendly issues as heartbreak and hope.
“Eyes” appears to be open and honest, with some cringe-worthy poems of the narrator hurting self (“December Tears” and “Long Distance Heartache”). “All I’ve Ever Done” finds him apologizing for a life full of wrongs “? as minor as flooding the toilet “? but by the end, things seem happier with themes of vindication and forgiveness.
