Yeah, not true. Even Tom
Coburn said that’s a lie. According to a report released by the U.S.
Senator and the General Accountability Office (bet you didn’t know we
had one of those), DHS ammunition purchases fell by almost 50 million
rounds over the last four years — from 132.9 million in 2009 to 84.1
million in 2013.

Furthermore, the report said DHS plans to buy only 75 million rounds in 2014.

Maybe it’s just us, but this data would seem to contradict what crazy people have been saying.

Thanks, Obama. So, how can Republicans spin this into a negative? Take it away, Tom!

“I
am pleased DHS has worked in good faith, and in a transparent manner,
with both myself and the GAO,” Coburn said. “I will continue to conduct
rigorous oversight of DHS programs and will specifically work with
Congress and the GAO to examine how duplicative federal police forces
cause excess and waste across the federal government.”

Thank heavens we have watchdogs like Coburn. Without them, people might make up kooky, deranged lies and pass them on as truth.

Aw, who are we kidding? People will do that regardless.
