Construction on the NW 23rd streetscape project continues moving through the district this month, with several new traffic impacts and pedestrian updates expected over the coming weeks.

According to project officials, Hudson Avenue is anticipated to reopen Tuesday, May 12, bringing some relief to drivers and businesses in the area.

Work will also begin May 12 on the midblock pedestrian crossing in front of Tower Theatre. The crossing is expected to reopen by Thursday, May 14, though limited pedestrian access will remain available during construction.

Additional demolition work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 18, near the Rise block, with a closure at Walker Avenue anticipated Tuesday, May 26.

Despite ongoing construction, businesses throughout the NW 23rd district remain open and are encouraging residents to continue supporting local restaurants, shops and entertainment venues during the streetscape improvements.

More information and project updates are available through Vision OKC.
