Oklahoma City Ballet will launch its 2026-27 season with the seventh annual Ballet Under the Stars on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. on the Love’s Travel Stops Stage & Great Lawn at Scissortail Park. The event is free and open to the public.
The outdoor performance showcases the company’s artistic range with excerpts from beloved classical ballets alongside contemporary works. Audiences will also see performances by Oklahoma City Ballet’s professional dancers, students from the OKCB Yvonne Chouteau School and guest performers from the University of Oklahoma School of Dance.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early for pre-show activities beginning at 5:30 p.m., including an opportunity to watch dancers warm up, take photos and participate in a free family movement class at 6:30 p.m. designed for all ages and experience levels.
The performance takes place on the Great Lawn at Scissortail Park, 300 SW 7th St. Attendees are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic dinners, while food trucks and concessions will also be available on site. No tickets or reservations are required.
Ballet Under the Stars serves as the official kickoff to Oklahoma City Ballet’s new season, which also includes SHORTS, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Future Voices: A Choreographic Showcase and Alice in Wonderland.
