The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden’s annual Haunt the Zoo returns for its 43rd year, bringing weekend trick-or-treating, costumes and fall activities to the Zoo through Oct. 31.
The event takes place Saturdays and Sundays, with trick-or-treating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s route winds through Expedition Africa, where guests can see giraffes, lions, zebras and other animals while stopping at 20 candy stations along the trail.
A new interactive pumpkin house joins the Halloween decorations this year, along with photo stops, seasonal food and costume parades at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each event day.
General Zoo admission or a ZOOfriends membership is required, along with an official Haunt the Zoo treat bag. Bags are $10, or $9 for ZOOfriends members, and must be purchased in advance.
The remaining Haunt the Zoo dates are Oct. 17-18, Oct. 24-25 and Oct. 31.
The Zoo will also host a special nighttime Haunt the Zoo event from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 30 featuring trick-or-treating, a dance party and costume characters.
Tickets and additional information are available at okczoo.org/htz.
