Calle Dos Cinco will celebrate the 21st anniversary of Fiestas de las Américas Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Plaza Calle Dos Cinco, SW 25th Street and Harvey Avenue.

Presented by Bank of America and Visit OKC, the annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration brings music, dance, food, art and family activities to Oklahoma City’s Historic Capitol Hill District.

The day begins at 10 a.m. with the Parade of the Américas, featuring nearly 100 entries from schools, community organizations, nonprofits and businesses. The parade will begin at Lower Scissortail Park and travel south along Robinson Avenue into Historic Capitol Hill.

This year’s grand marshal is Jaime Fuentes, director of Grupo Folklorico Norahua, a longtime participant and supporter of the festival.

Following the parade, SW 25th Street and Plaza Calle Dos Cinco will become a street festival featuring live entertainment on two stages, a taco-eating contest, food trucks, an artisan market, art displays and the Kids Fiestas Zone with crafts, activities and the OKCPS Foundation Reading Bus.

This year’s theme is “Growing Together – Stronger, More United.”
