Tyler showcases his “Landscapes of the West” at Adelante! Gallery, 3003 Paseo in The Paseo Arts District.
A national award-winning artist, Tyler returns to Adelante! for his third exhibit with “Landscapes.” Known for his extensive work with pastels, he has devoted much of his time in this year so far to painting, and the exhibit emphasizes the Colorado artist’s skill in this medium.
His multiple landscapes portray scenes from the frontier, and Tyler attributed his use of light and sense of place to the distinctiveness of his collection.
“Every place, every corner, every view “? it’s all just timing and light,” he said, in a press release.
Accompanying his work are paintings from “Four Women of the West”: Carol Swinney, Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey, Sandra VanderWall and Paula Jones. These guest artists bring a range of diverse artistic techniques to the exhibit, like Cawdrey’s silk paintings, Swinney’s exclusive use of oil and palette knife, and Jones’ Russian impressionism style.
These women’s paintings of the Western frontier combine with Tyler’s exhibit to create a unique show for Adelante!, which will run through July 26. To experience “Landscapes of the West” as well as the four guest artists’ work, visit the gallery from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
