At the Jan. 8 Elvis Presley impersonator contest at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill, Brian Dunning proved he was the complete package, having:
” the moves,
” the look,
” the attitude and
” the pipes of the young Elvis.
His hair blown back in a tall pompadour and dressed in a simple black-and-white suit, Dunning ultimately won for best Overall and best Moves.
THE KING LIVES
“Rockabilly started with Elvis in 1954, and I’ve been a big fan of Elvis since I was a kid,” Dunning said, as two elderly women cut into the interview.
“Excuse me, but I have to ask the kid a question,” said one of them, somewhere in her 70s and flirting like a teenager. “How old are you?”
Dunning just cocked his head and gave a tilted smile, capturing the cocky, yet polite air of The King.
ON THE SIDE
The impersonation is just a side gig to his regular rockabilly act, Brian Dunning & The Rock N Roll Trio,
