Country music star Russell Dickerson will headline the fourth annual CU in the Park free concert at Scissortail Park on Saturday, Sept. 26, giving Oklahoma City residents another opportunity to enjoy a night of live music at no cost.

Presented by 10 local credit unions, the annual community event begins at 7 p.m. and has become a celebration of cooperation, community and live entertainment.

Dickerson, a multi-platinum recording artist, recently celebrated his sixth career No. 1 country hit with “Happen to Me.” His string of chart-topping singles also includes “Yours,” “Blue Tacoma,” “Love You Like I Used To,” “Every Little Thing” and “God Gave Me a Girl.” With more than 4 billion career streams, Dickerson is currently touring behind his latest album, FAMOUS BACK HOME.

“We’re proud to have pioneered an event that brings our communities together for a fun and memorable night at the park,” said Dave Willis, president and CEO of Tinker Federal Credit Union. “We’re thrilled to continue hosting CU in the Park for a fourth year.”

JC Reavis, president and CEO of Allegiance Credit Union, said the event reflects the cooperative spirit that sets credit unions apart.

“What makes CU in the Park so unique is that it’s been created out of the cooperative spirit of credit unions,” Reavis said. “Credit unions have come together, not as competitors, but as partners committed to investing in our community.”

Stephen Lark, president and CEO of Communication Federal Credit Union, echoed that sentiment.

“Credit unions are built on the idea that we can accomplish more when we work together,” Lark said. “CU in the Park is a great example of that cooperative spirit in action, bringing local credit unions together to create a memorable event that benefits and celebrates our Oklahoma communities.”

Participating organizations include Allegiance Credit Union, Bison Federal Credit Union, Communication Federal Credit Union, Credit Union One of Oklahoma, Credit Union Service Centers, Oklahoma’s Credit Union, Oklahoma Educators Credit Union, Tinker Federal Credit Union, U.S. Employees Federal Credit Union and WEOKIE Federal Credit Union.

In addition to providing financial services, local credit unions say they remain committed to investing in Oklahoma communities through financial education, charitable initiatives and free public events like CU in the Park.

Admission to the concert is free.
