Scissortail Park is turning up the volume this summer with the launch of TailSpin: A Scissortail Park Music Festival, a new two-day celebration of live music featuring nine local, regional and nationally recognized artists.

The free festival will take place Aug. 7-8 on the Love’s Travel Stops Stage and Great Lawn as part of Scissortail Park’s Summer Concert Series. The event is open to the public, with food trucks available along S. Robinson Avenue.

The festival kicks off Friday, Aug. 7, from 6-10 p.m., with Oklahoma City indie rock favorite Husbands headlining the evening. Known for their energetic performances, soaring choruses and colorful arrangements, the band recently released its fourth album, CUATRO, marking a new chapter in its evolving sound.

Saturday’s lineup will be headlined by alternative rock band Letters to Cleo, performing from 8:30-10 p.m. The Boston-based band gained national recognition with its 1990s hit “Here & Now” and appearances on the soundtrack for the beloved teen comedy 10 Things I Hate About You. The group’s music has also been featured in Josie and the Pussycats and the television series Parks and Recreation.

The festival lineup highlights a mix of Oklahoma talent and touring acts, including Messies, Mad Honey, Foxburrows, Call Me Sparrow, Bailey Boy, Chelsea Days and the Casii Stephan Band.
