With a performance by the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and one of the largest fireworks shows in the state, the inaugural Red, White and Boom! on the River Celebration offers three days of family fun Monday to Wednesday, July 4.
Each night features fireworks and each day features a different theme of music:
” rock,
” classical and
” country.
CONCERTS
Ensembles from the philharmonic will perform throughout the day, and at 8:45 p.m., the whole orchestra ” along with Broadway singers Kelli O’Hara and Mike Eldred ” will come together under the direction of Music Director Joel Levine.
“We’ll do like a 90-minute concert, ending in one of the largest fireworks displays that we know of in the state,” said Glynis Crawford, Oklahoma City Philharmonic marketing and PR manager.
The festival also will include concerts by:
” Blood, Sweat & Tears,
” Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, and
” Jack Ingram.
FAMILY FUN
A children’s carnival also will be available for the little patriots in the family.
“It’s just a great time to come, bring your family, throw down a blanket and do fair food and fun things,” Crawford said.
A production of Brewer Entertainment, the event will be held at the Downtown Airpark, 1701 S. Western. Doors will open at 4 p.m. the first two nights and at 2 p.m. on July 4. Admission is free. For more information, call 236-4143. “CJ Macklin
