What’s cuter than a zebra born with camouflage stripes strutting his stuff? Saving a species.
NewsOK.com reports the male foal was born to Sassy and Ziggy, both Grevy’s zebras, the most endangered of the zebra species. The newspaper reports global population of the Grevy’s declined to 2,800 in 2008 — that’s after estimates of 15,000 in the late 1970s.
With those grim statistics, the 66-pound foal’s birth will bring smiles to animal lovers and non-animal lovers worldwide.
