The verdict is in: Mary Fallin is one of the least-popular governors in the nation. You probably already knew that, and if you didn’t know for sure, you probably had a pretty good idea.
Morning Consult, a tech and media company and polling firm, ranked Fallin No. 9 in its list of least-popular governors in national poll results released in September.
“Fallin’s disapproval rating increased from 47 percent in May to 53 percent now, according to the polling firm, while her approval fell from 42 to 40 percent,” Tulsa World reported.
The margin of error is 3.5 percent, Morning Consult data shows.
Our neighbor to the north, Kansas’ Sam Brownback, was ranked the least-popular overall. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker won the popularity vote, coming in at No. 1 with the highest approval rating of 72 percent.
More than 80,000 people in all 50 states were polled between January and May, and sample sizes from each state were based on state population.
We here at Chicken-Fried News imagine that drastic budget cuts, controversies over tornado shelters in schools and other mishaps contributed to Fallin’s weak score.
