While Gov. Mary Fallin is fighting the Environmental Protection Agency and ridiculing President Obama for following immigration laws she voted for while in Congress, she also welcomed a new family member to the governor’s mansion.
No, Christina isn’t moving back home. Rather, Fallin has adopted a new dog. We believe Fallin originally wanted to go with the name Dorman, but her media team advised against it. So she asked Oklahoma residents to help. According to The Oklahoman, suggestions ranged from Reagan to One Term. Last week, she announced the state’s first puppy, which we assume will have free access to contraceptives, would be named Okie. While Okie is popular nomenclature for a person from Oklahoma, its origin is as a derogatory term for Dust Bowl-era migrants from Oklahoma.
