As prodigious as he is on the basketball court, Russell Westbrook has made just as many waves off of it. Not because hes getting in trouble with the law or anything like that, but lets face it the man has style. Sure, his skills as a point guard are still a work in progress (turnovers, man), but at least the Oklahoma City Thunder star is realizing his potential in the fashion department.
In an unprecedented demonstration of fashion sense for an athlete, Westbrook has collaborated with Barneys New York for his own collection of hipster-approved menswear to be released in August. The luxurious department store will offer Westbrook designs from Del Toro, Want Les Essentiels, Marcelo Burlon, Naked & Famous, Selima Optique, Jordan and Globe Trotter.
If you recognize any of those names … uh … this is the collection for you.
I was so happy to see the tag and see my name and logo on it, Westbrook told fashion journal Womens Wear Daily. Id seen it on paper, but its the first time Ive actually seen it in hand and in person.
Were excited too, Russ. What better way to show your Thunder pride than vibing out in a designer tee and some skinny jeans?
