Construction is underway on Oklahoma City’s first MAPS 4 Youth Center, a new facility planned for Woodson Park at 3403 S. May Ave.
The 48,370-square-foot center will be operated by Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County and is designed to provide learning, recreation and social opportunities for children and teens. Plans include a gymnasium with two basketball courts, classrooms, learning centers, youth lounges, performing arts studios, teaching kitchens and space for workforce development and community events.
The $18.7 million project includes $13.7 million in MAPS 4 funding and $5 million from the OKC 2025 Bond.
The Woodson Park facility is the first of at least four youth centers planned through MAPS 4. Additional centers are planned for locations on S. Santa Fe Avenue, N. Prospect Avenue and at Melrose Park.
The centers are intended to provide after-school and summer programming and expand educational, recreational and social opportunities for young people across Oklahoma City.
