The pair were arrested Jan. 28 on a child neglect complaint after Daren allegedly barricaded their 3-yearold daughter into a hall closet and left her there all night.
A maintenance worker at the Nashburn’s apartment complex, Parkview Terrace Apartments at 1615 W. 59th St. in Tulsa, found the child and called the police.
According to a police report, Daren shut her in the closet around 3 a.m. because he said she was “throwing things around” and being unruly. Melissa told police Daren put the child in the closet because she was bothering him while he was playing a video game.
The couple also has two
other children, ages 5 and 1. All three children were taken into
protective custody when their parents were arrested and booked into the
Tulsa County Jail.
