Gov. Stitt issues Safer at Home order for 19 Oklahoma counties

Today, Gov. Kevin Stitt issued a Safer at Home order saying all vulnerable Oklahomans should avoid leaving home except to get essentials like groceries and medicine through April 30.

Stitt’s order closes nonessential businesses (businesses involving close contact, such as hair salons, spas, gyms and tattoo parlors) in 19 counties by 11:59 Wednesday for 21 days.

Counties affected include:

• Canadian
• Cleveland
• Custer
• Garvin
• Grady
• Jackson
• Kay
• Logan
• Mayes
• McClain
• Muskogee
• Noble
• Oklahoma
• Pawnee
• Payne
• Pontotoc
• Tulsa
• Wagoner
• Washington

The order also includes a 14-day suspension on elective surgeries, minor medical procedures and nonemergency dental procedures.

All visitation to nursing homes and longterm care facilities is banned, as are gatherings of 10 or more people.

Restaurants may remain open for curbside and delivery services.
