The OKC Streetcar is officially free to ride.
The Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority (COTPA) adopted a resolution Aug. 7 eliminating fares on the OKC Streetcar and establishing permanent zero-fare service.
EMBARK launched a free-fare pilot program in January to determine whether eliminating the cost of riding would increase streetcar use. According to a ridership analysis, the answer was a resounding yes.
Ridership from January through June 2026 increased by an average of 71 percent month over month compared with the same period in 2025.
“We’re pleased to see these positive results from the ridership analysis and to create a Zero Fare OKC Streetcar system for our residents and visitors,” EMBARK Director Jesse Rush said.
Rush said the streetcar can play an increasingly important role as Oklahoma City continues investing in downtown projects and prepares to host major events, helping improve circulation, ease traffic congestion and support downtown businesses.
The OKC Streetcar operates seven days a week on two loops with 22 stops and seven streetcars. Routes, maps and additional information are available through EMBARK.
