Things might be a little nuts here, but Oklahoma definitely has balls.
Television personality Johnny Knoxville, well known for performing risky stunts on MTV’s “Jackass,” almost left his manhood in the Sooner State while filming a tribute to the late Evel Knievel, according to a message on the program’s Web site.
Knoxville teamed up with Edmond BMX legend Mat Hoffman to shoot the tribute, which aired in late February on MTV. A failed backflip attempt on a motorcycle left Knoxville with a torn urethra and a hospital visit, according to the site.
“Had a ball “¦ even though I almost lost my own balls in the process,” Knoxville wrote in early February, posting a picture of his bloody pants on the site.
The 36-year-old stuntman said he had to wear a “piss bag” for weeks while healing, but was enthusiastic about the footage, which he said is entertaining beyond clips of his ER trip.
Stuntmen aren’t the only ones in castration danger here in the Sooner State, thanks to a testy lawmaker from Rush Springs who thinks a popular pickup accessory should be snipped.
State Rep. Joe Dorman, who previously authored a bill banning explicit videos from being shown on car television screens, spoke out against the proliferation of “Truck Nuts” dangling from trailer hitches on Oklahoma roads, according to a report from an NBC affiliate in Portland, Ore.
The replicated plastic or steel bull testicles come in an assortment of colors and textures, and, according to a store owner interviewed by WCSH-TV, everyone is clamoring for the “dangling doodads.”
Everyone, except “¦ Dorman.
“You shouldn’t have to explain to your kids at a very young age what is on the vehicle,” Dorman told the station. “Kids deserve the birds-and-bees speech at the right time, not because of something someone else is doing down the road.”
Legislation to remove the accessories has been introduced in other states, and Dorman said he thinks a ball-ban would easily pass if introduced in Oklahoma. – Gazette staff
