The Oklahoma City Council has approved a construction management services contract with Lingo Construction for the MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium, a major project planned for the area just south of Bricktown that is expected to anchor a future sports and entertainment district.
City officials say the decision marks an important milestone in moving the stadium from planning to reality. MAPS Program Manager David Todd noted that Lingo Construction brings deep local experience and a proven history of delivering large-scale, complex projects.
Construction on the stadium is anticipated to begin this spring, with completion and opening projected for early 2028.
Lingo Construction President Stan Lingo said the company is honored to play a role in a project designed to serve the community far beyond game days. The stadium, he said, is envisioned as a welcoming gathering place that will support local teams, attract visitors from across the country and host a wide range of events for years to come.
The stadium was designed by global architecture firm Populous and will be operated by Echo Investment Capital. Initial design concepts for the venue were unveiled in December.
Funding for the project comes from a mix of public and private sources, including MAPS 4, the 2025 Oklahoma City bond, tax increment financing (TIF), private contributions and other economic development tools.
Stadium features and location
The multipurpose stadium will be located east of the Oklahoma City Convention Center and south of Bricktown near Interstate 40. It will include a U.S. Soccer Federation–approved field and is planned as the future home for both women’s and men’s professional teams.
In addition to soccer, the venue is designed to accommodate football, youth sports, concerts and a variety of community events. Planned amenities include a club level, supporters’ section, locker rooms and suites.
