City leaders, including Mayor David Holt, cut the ribbon Friday on the new Lake Hefner Golf Club clubhouse during its grand opening weekend.

The 18,000-square-foot, two-story facility overlooks Lake Hefner and the North Course, offering updated amenities for golfers and visitors alike — plus a new dining destination.

The first floor features a golf shop, locker rooms and Alsie’s Corner, a grab-and-go spot. Upstairs, Maxwell’s on the Lake serves as a full-service restaurant and bar with panoramic views, along with two indoor golf simulator bays.

Officials say the new clubhouse is designed to be more than just a golf facility — a gathering place for the community with food, recreation and scenic lake views.

Grand opening weekend events

  • Friday: Simulator showcase + happy hour, 5–9 p.m.
  • Saturday: Four-person golf scramble, 8 a.m. shotgun start

The $11.8 million project was funded through the city’s 2017 General Obligation Bond. A future expansion funded by the 2025 bond is expected to begin in 2028, adding a banquet hall and additional space.

Lake Hefner Golf Club includes two 18-hole courses, a driving range and an academy course, with more than 80,000 rounds played last year.
