Fans of The Muppets are invited to sing along to some of the franchise’s most beloved songs during a special family-friendly event at the American Banjo Museum.
The museum will present “A Very Muppet Sing-Along with Lucas Ross” on Saturday, July 11, at 2 p.m. as part of its featured exhibition, “POP! Goes the Banjo!”
Led by Lucas Ross, the museum’s outreach and promotions coordinator, the interactive concert blends live music, comedy, storytelling and audience participation while celebrating the unforgettable songs and characters of The Muppets.
The event coincides with the museum’s “POP! Goes the Banjo!” exhibit, which includes a display featuring Kermit the Frog holding the promotional banjo from the 1979 The Muppet Movie.
Ross also serves as Kermit’s official banjo advisor and performs the banjo tracks for the character. A frequent collaborator with Disney’s Muppets Studio, he has appeared onstage with Kermit at the University of Maryland and contributed to recent Muppets productions, including performances alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Willie Nelson.
During the concert, guests can sing along to fan favorites including “Rainbow Connection” and “Bein’ Green,” while Ross shares stories from his experiences performing with Kermit. The afternoon will also include crafts and interactive activities for children and families.
The July 11 program also serves as a preview of Banjo Farm, Ross’ annual youth program, which returns to the museum on Aug. 1.
“A Very Muppet Sing-Along with Lucas Ross” is presented as part of the American Banjo Museum’s mission to promote, preserve and celebrate the banjo. The event is free with paid museum admission and is presented in cooperation with Disney’s Muppets Studio.
