What better way to kick off the fall season than with a free fashion show? University of Central Oklahomas fashion marketing program joins with Edmonds Spring Creek Plaza for the fifth annual Fall into Fashion.
Attendees will enjoy a glimpse at falls latest trends, as well as discounted merchandise and door prizes. Guests may arrive at 5 p.m. to shop before the show starts.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Griffin and Logan Chills, local, 22-month-old twin boys diagnosed with Alpers syndrome, a progressive neurologic disorder.
Spring Creek Plaza, owners and managers knew about the Chill family, and we agreed that this would be an extremely worthy cause, said Susan Miller, UCO professor. We are hon ored to be part of this charity event.
Miller said she hopes Fall into Fashion will show prospective students how the UCO program can prepare them for a successful career in the fashion industry.
We currently have many students who have graduated from our program in the OKC metro area. We also have students in the Dallas area, New York, California and even international students who have returned to their home country to work in the retail industry, she said. This [show] is a perfect example of not only a service project for our students, but an opportunity for transformative learning to be a major role of the students educational experience.
