Gourmet shop The Oil Tree, 7646 N. Western Ave., opens a second location at OAK, 2124 Northwest Expressway, on Saturday, July 26.

“Opening our second location at OAK feels like a natural step in our journey to bring honest, flavorful food to Oklahoma City,” said Oil Tree owner Maggie Peterson in the press release. “As someone who was raised here, it’s incredibly meaningful to be part of a space that celebrates local businesses and the growth of Oklahoma City. OAK’s atmosphere aligns with our goal to connect people around the table through authentic ingredients and quality artisan goods.”

The shop, which sells a variety of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and other artisanal and gourmet ingredients, will be the first locally owned business to open at OAK, a 20-acre mixed-use project from commercial real estate firm Veritas Development that also includes a hotel, residential apartments, restaurants and retail stores.

“It’s always been essential to our vision for OAK to reflect the heart and soul of Oklahoma City, and I can’t think of a better way to do so than through entrepreneurs like Maggie,” said Ryan McNeill, founder of Veritas Development, in the press release. “You can’t replace the care and attention to detail that she provides to her customers. It’s exactly what we’re looking for. The Oil Tree, already beloved by the community, perfectly aligns with our goal of creating a destination built by Oklahomans, for Oklahomans. Adding such a well-regarded OKC brand to our lineup reinforces the strong foundation we’re building at OAK.”

In addition to oil, vinegar, pasta sauces, pickles, cookware and other items, The Oil Tree’s 1,763-square-foot OAK location will host cooking classes and olive oil tastings and offer customizable gift sets.

Following a soft opening on July 14, the grand opening for The Oil Tree at the OAK is scheduled 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 26 with live music, giveaways, demonstration stations and complimentary beverages. The opening is part of OAK’s Christmas in July celebration that features a dog parade, a custom doghouse auction and other activities. Following the grand opening, The Oil Tree’s OAK location will be open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
