Ted wishes his mustache were like Freddie Mercury’s, but unfortunately, it more resembles Jason Lee’s in “My Name Is Earl.” In other words, it’s what I like to call a “disgustache,” prompting his girlfriend to leave him, passers-by to recoil in disgust, friends to disown him and others to mistake him for a drug pusher and/or child molester. Shot in Tulsa, writer Earnest Pettie and writer/director/star Matt Leach have made a 15-minute short that delivers laugh-out-loud moments from start to finish. The cast is appealing, the music score is wonderfully quirky, and these guys clearly need a sitcom deal.
