Sixteen Oklahoma artists will showcase works alongside a total of 29 national artists in a juried art exhibit on display in Chickasha.

The 13th biennial “Oklahoma: Centerfold” exhibit, on display through Feb. 6 at the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma art gallery, features more than 40 paintings, photographs and mixed-media pieces.

The show is named after the Sooner State’s location on the map: in the center of the fold.

Prior to its display at USAO, the “Centerfold” exhibit was on display at the Leslie Powell Gallery and Foundation in Lawton, which jointly hosts it.

Kim Camp, a mixed-media artist from Oklahoma City, took first place in the juried exhibition with her piece “Enslaved.” Iowa artist Margaret Whiting won second for “Laws of the Land,” while New Mexico’s Jean R. Wilkey took third with his work, “Fractured.”

The gallery is located on the first floor of Davis Hall on the USAO campus, 1727 W. Alabama. The gallery is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free. For more information, call 574-1239.
