Friday through Sunday at the Oklahoma River in Bricktown, for the 2007 Ozarka Bricktown Nationals drag boat racing competition will feature boats from all across the United States and Canada in 11 different classes, from personal watercraft to 250-mph top-fuel hydroplanes.
"It's probably the largest motor sports event in the state of Oklahoma," said Glenn Brown, president and chief executive officer of OKC Bricktown Water Sports. "We run a set of boats roughly every 90 seconds down that water."
Sanctioned by the Southern Drag Boat Association, racers will compete not only for prize money " ranging from $150 to $10,000 " but also for points leading to national and divisional championships.
"Last year we broke a SDBA world record with a run of 257 mph in 4.68 seconds," Brown said in a press release.

Friday acts as a test, tune and show day, with gates opening at 8 a.m. The races begin 7 a.m. Saturday and continue through Sunday. Tickets are $15 for a Friday pass, $20 for a Saturday or Sunday pass, and $40 for all three days.
