Retro-inspired metro garage-rockers The Electric Primadonnas are set to slay crowds Saturday night with songs from “Tambourine Massacre,” the trio’s debut full-length CD.
Rather than a full-volume rock assault, the Primadonnas perform a fun, Seventies-esque basement party, opting for more casual and snappy songwriting; twangy, jumbled guitars; messy melodies; and throwback vocals reminiscent of MC5 and The Velvet Underground.
The band’s CD release show starts at 8 p.m. at the Sauced Annex, 2912 Paseo, and will also include performances by Oklahoma psychedelic rockers Plaid Rabbit and local new-soul outfit Motown Blood. For more information, call 521-9801. “Joe Wertz
