The House of Representatives has already approved some $45 million in cuts, but the Senate has not voted yet.
The Pollard receives just more than $50,000 a year from the Oklahoma Arts Council, which receives 20 percent of its grant-making budget from the NEA. A cut to the OAC via cuts to the NEA would lose The Pollard about $10,000 in funding, or 2 percent of its budget.
“A brief note is all it takes; and in fact,is preferred. Simply urge them to restore funding to the National Endowment for the Arts. You can make a difference — the House amendment passed by a mere 8 votes,” wrote Pollard officials in a press release, urging Oklahomans to contact Sen. Jim Inhofe or Sen. Tom Coburn.
