‘Love’s Labour’s’ libraries

For the third year running, Reduxion Theatre Company will take Shakespeare to the people. Through April 13, audiences can revisit one of the Bard’s original comedies, Love’s Labour’s Lost. Reduxion partnered with Metropolitan Library System to create an accessible, interactive theater-going experience. Oh, baby

Credit: Brad Gregg So why all the party poopers? Some suspect the group’s evident openness to sexual fetishes had something to do with it, since the party invite encouraged guests who enjoy “age play” to arrive costumed as babies, toddlers or juveniles. Pioneer spokesman Gary Kramer made it clear that, while anyone can reserve a […]

Candy Capitol

Rooftops drip with delicious frosting. Peppermint swirls bloom in gardens. All of this can be found in the gingerbread village fit for a gingerbread king, currently on exhibit at Capitol Hill Library, 334 S.W. 26th. This is not the library’s first year to build the miniature candied community; it has done so for several years, […]

Why play? ‘Cos!

Saturday If you want to win this year’s Southern Oaks Library cosplay contest, do not come dressed as just some random ninja. No casual clothing will be accepted as a costume and you cannot come dressed as generic or background characters like a “Naruto” peasant or Hufflepuff student. Cosplay is the practice of dressing up […]
