Juicy J one-half of Three 6 Mafia helped pen the crunk anthem Its Hard Out Here for a Pimp for the film Hustle & Flow, netting the duo a Best Original Song Academy Award in 2005. Now he heads to Oklahoma City as a part of The Smokers Club tour, which also features Smoke DZA, Chevy Woods, local favorite Josh Sallee and many others.
The Memphis rappers third solo album is due later this year and marks his first material since becoming a part of Wiz Khalifas hip-hop collective, the Taylor Gang. Juicy J played an integral part in the emergence of crunk music in the mid- 2000s, and with Three 6 Mafia, hes garnered two platinum-selling albums, 2000s When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1 and 2005s Most Known Unknown, with total sales north of 5 million.
The duo has worked with the likes of Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, Tech N9ne and Insane Clown Posse, and Rick Ross is set to make an appearance on its upcoming disc, Laws of Power, the groups first since 2008. A release date for it and Juicy Js solo release, Stay Trippy, have not yet been announced.
