OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Court documents show convicted fraudster Brent Swadley pressing his family and publicist to seek help from Gov. Kevin Stitt and other politicians as he begins serving up to 10 years behind bars for defrauding the state millions of dollars.
The calls come amid separate controversy surrounding Stitt’s involvement in getting a woman who nearly killed someone while driving drunk out of jail early.
The Attorney General’s Office filed the transcripts as part of the ongoing appeals process.
An Oklahoma County jury convicted Swadley May 28 of defrauding millions of dollars from the state while operating restaurants in Oklahoma state parks under a contract the state gave his company, Swadley’s Foggy Bottom Kitchen.
Stitt denied having any personal connections with Swadley when the case first became public, amid questions over how the state gave Swadley’s the contract in the first place.

In a phone call just two days after his conviction, Swadley told his wife Melanie:
“I just hope that Stitt does the right thing.”
His wife quickly responded:
“You cannot keep talking about that on the phone…”
