The 7:30 p.m. show is being held in conjunction with the holiday weekend at the relatively new Armstrong Auditorium, 14400 S. Bryant in Edmond.
Although OConnor delves into a number of styles with his compositions, Shane Granger, Armstrong Auditorium house manager, said that the fiddle remains the focus of the performance.
Theyre going to basically go through an American journey of the fiddle, Granger said. Its a very American music type of celebration, which is why we thought it was great for the Fourth of July weekend.
OConnor will be joined onstage by a collective of talented artists, whom he selected.
Granger said that the show should be a lot of fun for the whole family, citing the fact that the collective performs some well-known songs, like Charlie Daniels classic The Devil Went Down to Georgia.
Theyre also, in addition to just being entertaining, theyre just really great, Granger said. Mark OConnor is a virtuoso on the fiddle.
